Former federal minister for railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Monday said the return of Nawaz Sharif was a positive development for the politics of Pakistan. Talking to Dawn News, he said Sharif brothers wanted to return to Pakistan and the government accepted their demand.
He said the Sharif brothers returned before the expiry of date for the filing of nomination papers and they can participate in the upcoming general elections. All political parties are submitting nomination papers and it will be a interesting election, he added.
He was of the view that MMA and ANP will participate in the elections. Many times in the past elections have been conducted under emergency and voters are not concerned about it, he added. He said Musharraf is going to take off his uniform in a few days.
