The Governor of Punjab Khalid Maqbool has said that tremendous development and economic progress was made in the tenure of Pervez Musharraf. Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, Khalid said Musharraf in his capacity as Chief of Army Staff made Pakistan Army and other forces professionally sound, providing them new technologies and sophisticated weapons.
The new COAS General Pervez Kayani is a professional soldier and committed officer of strong nerves. Pakistan Army would continue to play its pivotal role in the national development, strengthening of armed forces and betterment of the country as well as nation.
Earlier, addressing the inaugural ceremony of the first ever 'Middle East Pakistan' Agriculture and Dairy Investment Forum organised by MAP Services Group, Khalid said Pakistan is a land of opportunities for the investors in the dairy development and livestock.
He said the government would continue to extend all out support to the investors. The representatives from different countries, Alexander Cantacuzene SEVP Nestle Middle East and representatives of Abraaj Capital Ltd, of UAE, Al Rabi of Saudi Arabia, Ulker Group, Pinar Group of Turkey and others attended the function. Huma Fakhar, MD MAP Services Group, the organisers of the forum, on the occasion unfolded salient features of Pakistan's White Revolution Milk Strategy 2015.
Awards were given to former MD Nestle, Federal Minister Jehangir Tareen, Geoff Walker, Faisal Farooq, Par Soderlund and Fakhar Ahmed and Rizwan Razi for supporting White Revolution Strategy. The daylong forum will be held at the Royal Palm Lahore on Thursday (November 29).
The objective of the Lahore Forum is to help consolidate and facilitate agriculture and dairy investors, local partners, and financiers in boosting investment in value added agriculture and dairy. It may be mentioned that Pakistan was listed as one of major emerging markets in the world economy, placing the country on a list of 25 countries displaying continued moderate to strong growth over a sustained period of time.
