The graveyards of this world are testimony to the fact no individual human being is indispensable. Pharoahs of Egypt died centuries ago, but Egypt still survives. Yet the dictators of 21st century continue to live in the past and mock the intelligence of their people.
But we live in the 21st century where nations survive, because systems and institutions are in place to perform their assigned legitimate tasks. Pakistan's constitutional government and its loyal armed forces are there to safeguard our nuclear assets. No individual dare tie his presence to the country's national security nor its vital nuclear assets.
It is time that "Pakistan First Policy" be adopted in its true spirit and not the rhetoric that we have been hearing from the likes of Ayub, Zia, and now Musharraf. I advise the President to visit the graves of Ayub and Zia, whose skeletons are buried under mounds of Pakistani soil, yet we survive today, in spite of their follies.
There is no doubt that this country has been weakened by adventurers and usurpers, but it is still home to hundreds of millions of people, whose children have not opted for foreign nationalities, for they are wedded to this soil. Long live Pakistan, its people and all its institutions, including the armed forces.
