The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore is set to celebrate its 125 years and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz chaired a meeting to review and finalise arrangements. A UVAS spokesman said the celebrations would begin with students' week on December 10 while the programmes would take place between December 18 and 19.
Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool will be chief guest at the concluding ceremony while Federal Caretaker Minister Dr Muhammad Amjad will chair the opening ceremony. All alumni members will participate with over 700 members having already registered themselves. A history book of the university will also be launched. A technical session, deans' session and dog and pet birds shows are some of other features of the celebrations.
The students' week of the celebrations will be made up of inter-university Naat and Qirat contests, bilingual declamation contests, a quiz contest, an intra-university drama competition followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
