Some people think and believe that the season of returns and deals started with the return of Benazir Bhutto but my calculation is that it actually started on 20th July when Mr Iftikhar Chaudhry the then Inactive Chief Justice was restored by orders of a full bench.
It was only after that the season of deals began, the main beneficiaries being Nawaz Sharif and Benazir. The latter waited and played a late cut which resulted in swift entry into Pakistan, the following days were then spent just to make public believe that there was no deal.
Benazir cut a deal to facilitate the swift transfer of her illegally made wealth and unfreezing of frozen accounts, that is still in jeopardy as the Swiss court has refused to adapt the charged atmosphere of ever-changing political circumstances and national interest of Pakistan. So that the deal is still in limbo.
One may ask questions like why did Aitezaz Ahsan go to London to see Mr Sharif only after the famous judgement of Iftikhar Chaudhry's restoration, and why did Sharif brother file a petition only after this visit.
