Pakistan has a lot of potential and raw material in textile sector only need is to produce value added products by using new technology to get self reliance, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Arif Butt told the earth-breaking ceremony of new building of the Textile Processing Technology Division here at the New Campus on Friday.
Textile Processing Technology Division head Professor Dr Arshad Chugtai and Institute of Chemical and Engineering Technology Acting Director Professor Dr Zahoor-ul-Hassan Rizvi were also present.
He said, "Our country is included in the top 10 producers of cotton but we are unable to produce finishing goods in textile sector so there is a dire need to produced textile professionals in this field." He said the university by establishing this division would again play his due role in the progress and prosperity of the country. Professor Dr Chughtai in his welcome address described the aims and objectives of the division.
