A meeting held under the chairmanship of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal here on Friday, decided to set-up a new department for this service while services of some expert will be hired through newspaper advertisement to head this department.
The meeting was informed that rescue service is being started with the private sector cooperation. For this purpose nine places have been spotted in the city where an ambulance, a fire brigade will remain deployed round the clock along with equipment and staff.
Addressing the meeting, Mustafa Kamal said that modern communication system will be used in the rescue service and nine big size mercedez vehicles have been purchased which will be fitted with all necessary medical equipment to facilitate provision of first aid. This service, he pointed out, will help provide better facilities to citizens and will provide immediate services in emergency situations.
"It is a big service to humanity and a professional expert will be hired to run this department in a better manner and also to improve its working". He said a control room will be set-up for rescue service which will be linked with ambulance and hospitals through wireless and telephone.
According to him the staff of rescue service will be available in all government and private hospitals which would make necessary arrangements in the hospital as soon as an ambulance carrying a patient moved.
This service, Mustafa Kamal said, will be linked with city's all major hospitals while private hospitals too would be bound down to provide immediate aid to patient of an accident brought there. Noted surgeon Dr Rasheed Jumma said that city government will be provided complete help in this regard.
