Experts on 'Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from Pakistan, Afghan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) met on Monday and reviewed measures to counter the IED threat, the army said.
A statement from Inter-Services Public Relations said that the civil population, as well as security forces on both sides of the Pak-Afghan border, were faced with the IED threat.
The delegates at the 13th Counter-IED Working Group meeting was attended by Afghan National Army (ANA), ISAF and Pakistan Army and had a day-long discussion at General Headquarters (GHQ). At the end of the meeting, participants expressed satisfaction over the progress made since establishment of the Working Group as a subcommittee of the Tripartite Commission, the statement said.
