Pakistan Railways on Thursday reopened the rail track between Karachi and Lahore for traffic at around 12 noon after repairing the damaged track, Secretary Pakistan Railways Ghiasuddin said. Talking to APP, he said the track was badly damaged due to derailment of train near Sukkur, adding, railway engineers were vigorously working to repair it at the earliest," he added.
Some 40 passengers died and around 270 were injured when Lahore-bound Karachi Express derailed between Lakha Road and Mehrabpur Railway stations at about 2:25 am on Wednesday.
