The Investigation Police, Gulshan Iqbal have raided a hideout and arrested a gang of criminals involved in multiple street crimes here on Wednesday. Police arrested five of its members and seized looted property worth Rs 2 million including illegal weapons. Arrested persons, during preliminary interrogation have confessed of committing more than 20 such crimes.
The SP Investigation, Saddar division, Jahanzaib Nazir Khan on directive of the Capital City Police Officer, additional IG, Malik Muhammad Iqbal and DIG Investigation, Tassaduq Hussain constituted a special team under the supervision of in-charge investigation, Iqbal Town to check street crimes. The team on a tip off raided a hideout and arrested Qaisar alias Qaisri along with four persons of his gang allegedly involved in various street crimes.
These criminals were already reported as wanted in over 15 cases in various police stations in Hanjarwall, Gulshan Iqbal, Muslim Town, Johar Town and Iqbal Town areas.
The police also recovered 70 tolas of gold ornaments, cash of Rs 100000, seven cell phones, laptop, television, watches, cycles, five pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as Qaisar alias Qasri, Pervaiz, Gulzar Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf and Abdul Waheed. Meanwhile, the IG, Capital City Police has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the raiding police team.
