The Lahore High Court has on Wednesday adjourned to January 4 the proceedings in a petition field by Anjum Naseem Pawar, an independent candidate from NA-82 Faisalabad, who sought the court's direction to direct the Election Commission to postpone the elections.
The petitioner was of the view that respondent Chief Election Commission (CEC) adopted discriminatory attitude towards independent candidates and allotted them election symbols late. He pleaded that due to the respondent's discriminatory attitude they could to launch their election campaign properly. The court, after hearing the petitioner at length, adjourned the proceedings and rose for the day.
