The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has chalked out 'Code of Ethics' and comprehensive security arrangements for the processions and gatherings during Moharram.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner Hamid Ali Khan on Thursday presided a meeting in this regard which reviewed the security arrangements to maintain law and order situation during Moharram in the federal capital and finalised these arrangements after consultation with Ulema.
The meeting was attended by Ulema of all schools of thought, besides Islamabad IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, SSP Kaleem Imam and officials of the district administration.
The chief commissioner told the meeting that fool-proof security arrangements would be ensured in the capital to maintain law and order, while all concerned departments including hospitals would remain on high alert during Muharram ul Haram.
He told that peace committees comprising Ulema would co-ordinate for security around Masajid and Imambargahs while the members of these committees would monitor internal security arrangements during the processions and gatherings and security on various routes of procession and Sabeels.
