On the directives of Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Major General Liaquat All, the Rangers personnel have initiated a campaign in Lyari and adjoining areas in order to recover the goods allegedly looted by miscreants in the aftermath of tragic demise of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on December 27.
A statement issued here on Saturday said in this regard Rangers staged a series of successful raids on Friday night at suspected places and recovered huge quantities of looted goods which included thousands of bags of flour, sugar, pulses, eight computers, seven air-conditioners and large quantities of garments.
In this regard many arrests have been made and the arrested persons after initial investigation have been handed over to the police. The Director General Rangers, Sindh, has appealed to the masses at large to extend all possible co-operation to the Rangers in order to identity the culprits involved in looting of private and public properties on the said day so that these criminals be awarded exemplary punishments.
He has vowed to ensure peace and tranquillity in the city by taking all possible measures in order to root out the menace of lawlessness from the city and put it on the track of progress and development.
