China says "a stable Pakistan" serves not only the national interests of Pakistan but also that of the whole region and international community. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi during telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Inamul Haque.
Jiechi said China believes that under the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan will overcome temporary difficulties and remain united so as to maintain social stability and nationaldevelopment. Haque appreciated China's support to Pakistan at such a difficult time and said the government is committed to further promoting democracy, maintaining stability and development of the country.
