The Northern Areas are in the grip of severe cold weather, which has forced people to remain indoors. Rains and snowfalls are lashing Northern Areas for the third consecutive day on Wednesday.
Heavy rains have also affected communication system. Reports of rains also received from other parts of the region. According to local Met office, the area has so far received one foot of snowfall, which has dropped the temperature to minus four.
