A godown stocking woods and chemical thinner in Dharamsi wara, Ram Swami area gutted, when fire broke out in it on Sunday evening. The fire was so intense that it spread to an adjacent warehouse of plastic works unit.
An official of fire brigade department said as many as 14 fire tenders were called to extinguish the fire. He said when fire broke out in the warehouse, there was no one present, hence it engulfed to the nearby godown.
He said that the fire was brought under control, adding around 70 percent materiels of the godowns were turned into ashes in the fire. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained, he concluded.
