Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A Memon has said Pakistan is a frontline state and it has sacrificed a lot in the war on terror. The minister said this while participating in a discussion programme broadcast by the Voice of America (VoA) on Monday night.
The minister in reply to a question said no Pakistani would like foreign forces to conduct military operation in Pakistan. He said the statements issued by President Pervez Musharraf on this matter reflected the feelings of all the people of Pakistan.
He said not only a leader or a party or military but also the whole nation would protect it. "Our military has full capability to tackle the situation," he added.
Talking about the security, he said: "As far as the security is concerned Pakistan was defended and is defended." Nisar Memon while speaking on the nuclear assets of Pakistan said those belonged to the whole nation.
He said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was creator of this programme. Zia ul Haq protected it, while Nawaz Sharfi carried out nuclear tests and President Musharraf developed a command and control system to ensure its safety.
