The Nazim, City District Government Lahore (CDGL), Mian Amir Mahmood has asked the people to stand together with the police, stay alert to the suspects so that the terrorists could be stopped from striking on innocent citizens.
The nazim, while chairing a meting of the police and different other departments in Jinnah Hall said that his administration has designed a security plan that should be finely implemented by the police.
Mahmood outlined the special security arrangements for the Muharram informed the meeting that the Health Department had made a temporary 10-bed hospital at the Central Model School to help the mourners with first-aid in case of injuries.
"This hospital will work 24 hours in three shifts while 12 doctors and 25-member paramedical staff will be present there to attend emergency if there happens any," he told the meeting. Further, the nazim said the CDGL would make arrangements for 20 first-aid camps on Yaum-e -Ashur and two ambulances would be available through the time.
Describing the security set up further, he directed to manage parking arrangements at the majalis venue to avert any possible mishap. Most importantly, Mahmood asked people to call on 139, the Central Control Room at Nasir Bagh in case of emergency, where officers of the police, Wapda, Rescue 1122, Sui Gas and Wasa staff are available to attend the complaints. Officials of police, telephone, Wapda, Wasa and organisers of the main Zuljinnah procession were also present in the meeting.
