Pakistan Peoples Party Information Secretary, Sherry Rehman has threatened the government that any postponement or further delay in the general elections would not be tolerated. In an interview with a private TV channel, she said that despite being a victim party, Pakistan People's Party has stressed to hold elections according to the schedule.
To a question Sherry Rehman said, "we do not agree with the suggestion to postpone the elections and any delay in this regard will not be tolerated." Restoration and activation of political forums was the vision of Benazir Bhutto, she added.
She said that despite having evidence of pre-poll rigging, PPP wants timely elections. About the investigation into the murder of Benazir Bhutto she said, spot of the incident was wiped off on December 27, so we did not know to whom we trust and to seek co-operation.
She said that the PPP has made a request to the United Nations for investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto but the government doesn't want to probe the case through the United Nations.
