The line-up of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports this week remained at 33 ships waiting, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, Williams said nine vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, same number as last week. There were 11 vessels at Maceio, up from 10 one week ago.
In Recife port, there were 7 vessels waiting, down from 10 last week. The center-south, which accounts for 85 percent of national sugar cane output, has completed harvesting. Santos port accounted for 40 percent of the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports.
