Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) has rejected the idea of a national government in the country. It made it clear that no national government under the leadership of Pervez Musharraf was acceptable to it. This was stated by a central leader of the JI Liaqat Baloch while talking to NNI here Tuesday.
He maintained the suggestion of the national government is in fact an attempt to prepare ground for legitimising Pervez Musharraf's action of November 03. He made it clear that the issue of the national government relates to Q-league and N-league, JI is not concerned with it. "We will never accept such a Government", he declared.
The JI leader held Pervez Musharraf responsible for all the problems the country is facing now. He said that he has no contact with Nawaz Sharif on the re-scheduling of election, nor he is interested in it. To a question, he said that there existed a clear division now between those who are participating in the election and those boycotting it.
So far as the fate of the MMA is concerned, he said, it will be decided after February 18 election. To another question, Baloch said that he did not foresee that election will be held on February 18. Even if the election is held its result will be engineered according to the wishes of the rulers and Mian Nawaz Sharif will realise it on February 19, he added.
