Pakistan Muslim League (N) would not support any foreign aid at the cost of self-esteem and only elected government after free, fair and transparent polls will decide the country's foreign policy, said Mukhdoom Javed Hashmi, senior vice president of PML-N and party candidate for NA-55 Rawalpindi here on Friday.
"Musharraf has mortgaged the country's honour to west for few dollars and piled up lots of wealth while people are living in misery," Hashmi said while addressing the reception hosted in his honour by different party leaders. Many Nazims, Naib Nazims and political activists also announced to support Hashmi in upcoming general elections.
Hashmi said that after elections, PML-N would have relations with world on equal footing. "We will not make any compromise on country's esteem and honour and every decision will be made in best interest of country and the people," he added.
He said that Musharraf and his allies had pushed country into a ditch just to prolong their illegitimate rule. But, he added that people of Pakistan would not allow anyone to exploit them and play havoc with country's economy and democracy.
He assured people that after winning general elections, PML-N would make all out efforts to restore the supremacy of Constitution and rule of law. Musharraf and his puppets in the past have played havoc with country and trying to tame judiciary and media.
"We are fighting for the restoration and freedom of judiciary and media and with the active support of people we will attain this sacred goal," he added.
Hashmi said that independent judiciary and media were imperative to make sure the supremacy of Constitution and rule of law, and these two institutions would help coming governments to keep moving in the right direction. "Every person believing in democracy and democratic institutions would support PML-N in its struggle and defeat the forces of darkness who are frightened with the anger of masses," he said. He said that on February 18, PML-N would emerge as winner and make efforts to end the current crisis like price hike.
