A full bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro, Justice Munib Ahmed Khan, Justice Nadeem Azhar Siddiqui, Justice Abdul Rahman Farooq Pirzada and Justice Dr Rana M Shamim on Friday reserved orders in constitution petitions and a suo motu reference concerning May 12 incidents of Karachi.
The suo motu reference was filed by Registrar of SHC, which was converted into a constitution petition by the then Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and fixed before a seven-member bench of SHC.
Today, Rasheed A Rizvi advocate appearing before the court in capacity of elected President of SHC Bar Association refused to proceed and submitted three pages written reply. The bench after hearing the Advocate General Sindh Barrister Farooq A Naseem reserved orders.
More than 40 people lost their lives and over 200 sustained injuries in incidents of lawlessness on May 12, 2006 when deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry came to Karachi to preside a function of SHCBA in connection with its silver jubilee celebrations.
