A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Friday issued notices to Deputy Attorney General and Director General Pakistan Rangers for February 6 in a constitution petition filed by Sharjeel Inam, candidate to a Provincial Assembly seat from Tharparkar.
The petitioner alleged in the petition that former chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim was using government functionaries to harass him and death threats had been extended to him. He sought security by police and rangers and also for hiring armed private guards.
The bench comprising Justice Azizullah M. Memon and Justice Arshad Noor Khan after hearing the counsel issued notice to DAG and DG Rangers seeking comments by February 6 and ordered that petitioner is at liberty to hire private guards. The same bench also put off a case of a missing person Maulana Abdul Samad to a date in office after DAG stated that he has not received notice of the petition.
