The head of Pakistan People's Party (PPP)'s Election Monitoring Cell, Senator, Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa has accused the caretaker government of allowing Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) candidates to use official resources, transfers of government officials and registration of cases against the PPP workers.
While presiding over a meeting he said that the PML-Q and its allies were openly using government resources for canvassing. In addition to that, the caretaker government ordered a large number of transfers and postings in different government departments to rig the elections for the PML-Q and its allies have registered false cases against the PPP workers.
He termed these acts as unfair means that the government is following to rig the elections and demanded immediate withdrawal of these cases. Further, he said that Punjab and Sindh caretaker governments were simply an extension of the PML (Q) and was surprised that despite many complaints sent to Chief Election Commision, no action was taken. He also said that administration, including the police is partial in the city as PPP flags and banners were removed from many areas.
The meeting decided the members of election monitoring cell would soon submit written complaints to the election commissioner The local leaders of the PPP who participated in the meeting demanded of the Chief Election Commissioner to withhold all transfers/postings and recruitment orders issued by the caretaker government and the army should be deployed at all sensitive polling stations.
