God has made a lens in human eye, which is fully transparent during birth time. The lens undergoes changes with passage of human age, losing transparency and causing cloudiness. Massive use of eye medicines also causes cataract.
This was stated by an eye expert Danish while delivering a lecture on 'Cataract Disease' in Safora Goth organised by Sahar Foundation Trust (SFT) in collaboration with Sachal Sarmast Council.
He said that some people in initial stage see spots in the lens and complain about weak eyesight. When the eye lens becomes clouded, the passage of light is clouded, thus reducing the human ability to see, he added.
Danish said that cataract disease also occurs due to diabetes and use of eye drops without consultation with any doctor.
He said that a cataract is simply clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. "This usually occurs as a normal part of the aging process of the eye. Many times, the loss of transparency of the lens is so mild, vision is hardly impaired. When the lens gets cloudy enough to obstruct your vision, it is then called a cataract", he observed.
