The government has set up a central complaint cell, accessible through toll free number 1334, at the Water and Sanitation Authority's (Wasa) head office to address its customers' problems. Punjab Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Minister, Mian Shafqat Ali inaugurated the cell.
The Managing Director Wasa and other officers were also present on the occasion. More complaint cells with round the clock services will also be set up in 22 sub-divisions in Lahore and will be attached with the central complaint cell.
The minister said that provision of potable water and sewerage facilities were his government's top priority and that such cells would also be set up in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Multan. "They will start functioning in a week. Toll free number of these complaint cells is 1334 enabling the public to air their complaints round the clock," he added. He also announced that all complaints received through the toll free number and the subsequent action would be sent to the authority.
