Chairman Awami Qiadat Party (AQP) and former Army General Mirza Aslam Baig (Retd) along with a delegation has called on PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif and assured his support. During the meeting held on Thursday, General Aslam Baig (Retd) and Shahbaz Sharif exchanged views about prevailing political situation in the country.
On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that the PML-N had regards for Pakistani Army and its former Chiefs, adding that the nation would always remember the efforts of General Aslam Baig (Retd) for restoration of democracy. It was also noted that former Prime Minister and slain Chairperson of Pakistan People's Party Benazir Bhutto had awarded Tamga-e- Jurat (award of courage) to him.
During the meeting, General Aslam Baig (Retd) assured Shahbaz Sharif his party support in the constituencies where his candidates were not contesting the polls. The PML-N several leaders, including Rafique Tarar, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Muhammad Sabir Awan, Chaudhry Shabir Ahmad, Aslam Mohsin , Rana Ashraf Advocate and Muhammad Younas were also present there.
