The Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association have threatened to cancel license /membership of lawyers, who violate the decision to boycott all courts till February 18. The lawyers' national convention here on Saturday gave a call to lawyers to boycott all courts this week to press their demand for restoration of pre-November 3, 2007 judiciary.
PBC vice chairman Mirza Aziz Akbar Baig told Business Recorder that the PBC had taken a serious notice of the lawyers, who appeared before the courts on Monday and Tuesday in violation of the legal fraternity decision. He said that the PBC executive body would consider cancellation of licenses of the lawyers, who appeared before the courts.
Secretary of Supreme Court Bar Association Amin Javed said that the SCBA was collecting names of such lawyers to take action against them. Meanwhile, four benches of Supreme Court heard the cases fixed before the court at Islamabad, while one bench heard the cases fixed before it at Lahore on Tuesday and disposed of 24 cases.
These cases mainly pertained to rent, land, possession, service, ejectment, ownership, murder, acquittal, death sentences, child custody and bail matters. Deputy Registrar, Judicial, Mohammad Bashir Janjua said that the following 30 advocates appeared before the Principal Seat to argue their cases:

Amanullah Kirmani, AAG Sardar Shaukat Hayat, Additional AG Dr Danishwar Malik, PG Sardar Muhammad Ghazi, DAG Siddique Khan Baloch, DPG Syed Haider Ali Pirzada, Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Hafiz S.A. Rehman, M. Aslam Chishti, Sr. S.M. Masood, Zaka-ur-Rehman, Malik Imran Ahmed, Muhammad Saleem Chaudhry, Waseem Sajjad, Muhammad Munir Paracha, Raja Ibrahim Satti, Saeed-ur-Rehman Farrukh, Mahboob Azhar Sheikh, Sheikh Riaz-ul-Haq, Syed Asghar Hussain Sabzwari, Aftab Bajwa, Raja Abdul Ghafoor, Arshad Ali Chaudhry, AOR M.S. Khattak, AOR Syed Zaffar Abbas Naqvi, Haji Rafi Siddiqui, Mian Fazal-i-Mehmood, Makhdoom Ali Khan, Sheikh M. He said the following advocates appeared before the court at Lahore to argue their cases: Mahmud-ul-Islam, AOR Khwaja M. Afzal, Qamar-uz-Zaman, Aftab Gul, M.A. Qureshi, AOR Mian Nusratullah, Akhtar Rana, Nasim Sabir Chaudhry, M. Anwar Khan, Shabbir A. Lali, DPG Irshad H. Bhatti, DPG and A.K. Dogar.
