The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has stressed the European Union to ease the policy for issuance of business visa besides removing the duties on Pakistani textile products. President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ijaz Abbassi.
While talking to the Consultants of Europe Union Dr Bent Norby Bonde and Munir Ahmed, said that EU issues business visa after the verification of 27 countries in 45 days, adding that the process needs to be eased.
He said that tariff and non-tariff barrier were imposed to restrict the access of the goods in the EU market, adding that penetration of Pakistani products was becoming difficult because some other countries were allowed tariff concessions, which promoted their access in the EU market. He added that branches of foreign universities should be established in Pakistan that would help in-house improvement in the education sector.
"We want to establish technical training institutes in Pakistan with the assistance of EU team of experts," he added. The consultant of Europe Union Dr Bent Norby Bonde and Munir Ahmed said that Europe Union considers Pakistan as the largest trading partner and wants to enhance trade relations with it.
The European Commission and the member states of the European Union are working to further improve relations with Pakistan at both public and private levels.
Europe Union wants to improve the business activities in Pakistan and ICCI can play a pivotal role for the betterment in this regard.
EU would like to provide technical assistance, financing for initiatives related to entrepreneurship, with research institutes and universities contribution to creating a knowledge-driven economy, they added.
