The Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Raziur Rehman Khan on Friday inaugurated the Facilitation Centre at the Company Registration Office (CRO), Islamabad. According to a SECP announcement, this is the second such centre opened after the Lahore centre.
As part of its facilitation measures to promote a corporate culture in the country, the SECP plans to open similar centres at its CROs in other cities. The facilitation centre, through its various counters, will extend specialised and state-of-the-art facilities in a time-bound and in an effective manner. It is envisaged that the center will go a long way in providing an investor friendly environment, and promoting awareness and assistance for corporatisation of business entities.
Following counters have been established at the centre to ensure an expeditious services delivery to the corporate sector, the investors and the general public through One Window Operation: Firstly, receipt counter (for receipt of returns, accounts, applications, and other documents filed by the companies under the provisions of Companies Ordinance, 1984).
Secondly, issue counter (For issuance of certificates of registration, acknowledgement of filing and letters, as prescribed under the Companies (Registration Offices) Regulations, 2003. Computerised acknowledgement receipt will be issued in respect of each return and application filed with the registrar concerned).
Thirdly, information and special services counter would providing information regarding procedures for availability of names, incorporation of companies, post-incorporation compliance requirements, and status of individual complaints. The special service covers areas of registration of companies, availability of names, registration of charges, provision of certified copies of documents, and inspection of records of documents by the public.
The action taken on the complaints and individual investors' inquiries will be intimated to the complainant and inquirer, respectively, within 48 hours and computer based name search facility will be provided by establishing a special desk to facilitate the visitors search the name availability at the spot, the SECP added.
