District Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil has constituted a committee to organise a three-day 'Flower Exhibition' to be held from February 29 to March 2. The committee is headed by DCO Hyderabad Aftab Ahmed Khatri.
Other members of the committee include DPO Hyderabad Imran Shaukat, President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (HCCI) Haji Yaqoob, and representatives one each from Commercial Banks, Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, Sindh Abadgar Board, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Sindh Regiment Centre, Institute of Horticulture Mirpurkhas besides EDOs of district government Hyderabad.
In order to facilitate the exhibitors and visitors, the district nazim also constituted five sub-committees including Stalls registration sub-committee headed by EDO CDD Shufatullah Uner, Exhibition sub committee headed by Director P&DC HDA Masood Jumani, Transport sub committee headed by Deputy Director HDP Fahim Junejo, Souvenir and Publicity sub committee headed EDO F&P Javaid Junejo and Awards sub committee headed by Dr Abid Ali Khan former Director Sericulture Hyderabad.
A three-member sub-committee was also constituted in the meeting headed by DCO Hyderabad to select the venue of the exhibition. Addressing the meeting, Jamil said that district government Hyderabad has converted the flowers exhibition into an annual event to promote flowery culture in the district besides providing entertainment facilities to the people.
He asked the government and private organisations and general public to come forward and participate in the flower exhibition to make it a success. He announced that best exhibitors would be awarded with prizes, shields and certificates for their encouragement.
