Notice was issued to Deputy Attorney General (DAG) for a date to be fixed later in a petition filed before a bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan comprising Justice Muhammad Moosa K. Leghari and Justice Zia Pervez here on Monday. The bench was hearing a petition filed by S.M Gharib Nawaz advocate who moved the court against bank charges collected on bills by KESC.
The petitioner maintains that KESC collects Rs 8 per bill as bank charges which comes around Rs three billion per month. This was mere fleecing by the power utility, he maintained. The bench after hearing initial arguments issued notice to the DAG and other respondents for a date to be fixed by office of the court.
