President College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) paid glowing tributes to the army's Surgeon-General Lieutenant General Mushtaq Baig and termed him a role model for medical profession.
Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Regional Director, Lahore Centre, Councillors, Professor Muhammad Amjad, Professor Rakhshanda Rahman, Professor Shoaib Shafi expressed their heartfelt grief on the sad demise of Lieutenant General Mushtaq Baig in a terrorist act.
It may be mentioned that after graduation from King Edward Medical University, Baig was awarded MCPS in Ophthalmology in 1977 and FCPS degree in 1988 by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Baig had tremendous contribution for medical profession particularly for CPSP. He was known to be an honest, humble person and served the ailing humanity for the whole of his life.
He was sympathetic, caring and helped everybody in his life. He was an asset for the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and a role model for medical profession. A large number of Ophthalmologists trained by him are serving throughout the country.
Being a senior fellow of CPSP, the College has lost a great personality with unlimited qualities. The irreparable loss and gap produced by his martyrdom will take years to fill. On behalf of the President CPSP and the Council, a delegation led by Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Regional Director, CPSP Lahore and Professor Shoaib Shafi, Councillor attended the funeral ceremony of Mushtaq Baig.
