Punjab Governor, Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd), Caretaker Chief Minister former Justice Ejaz Nisar, Chief Secretary Punjab Salman Siddique, Inspector General of Police Dr Syed Azhar Hassan Nadeem, FIA Director Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad and other senior police officered funeral prayers in absentia for recent bomb blast victims of Lahore.
While talking to the newsmen, the governor said that suicide attackers wanted to create disruption in society but their nefarious designs would be foiled by the nation. He said that government, police and law enforcement agencies had vowed to tackle all challenges, including terrorism facing the country.
He said government's efforts for "war against terror" would continue. The governor hoped that law enforcement agencies would succeed in arresting the terrorists soon. On the occasion, Khalid Maqbool appreciated law enforcement agencies, administration of hospitals, rescue workers and NGOs for performing their duties and relief work with competency.
