Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said on Friday that no dam would be constructed without seeking public opinion and dam projects would be implemented after a consensus.
He said this while talking to APP on the occasion of laying a wreath at the Mazar of Pakistan Peoples Party's founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his death anniversary. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said there was shortage of 3,000 mega watts of power in Karachi alone.
An emergent meeting will be called on April 7 for the solution of this crisis after which power crisis all over the country would be resolved on a permanent basis through effective measures, he said. The Federal Minister said a plan had been prepared on emergent basis for a specific period to resolve the power crisis.
He said canals in Sindh and Punjab provinces would be cemented to save clean water from being wasted. On the occasion, he said Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made the masses capable of being proud of themselves and keeps playing their role for their country's defence, prosperity, progress and peace.
