As many as 278 patients were treated at a daylong free medical camp held exclusively for children at Mouza Lasharian some 36 kilometres from here. The camp was organised under the aegis of Social Welfare Society Mouza Lasharian, Okara, to facilitate the people living in rural areas of the district.
Child Specialists Dr Muhammad Saeed of Hassan Children Hospital Okara and Dr Muhammad Saqib of Sir Ganga Ram hospital Lahore's paediatric department examined the patients at the camp free of cost, while medicines were also provided to all the patients free of cost with the co-operation of local philanthropists. The specialists discovered that most children had skin problems and allergies, and many cases of malnutrition were also identified.
Some children who were from parents of very young age were found to be quite weak and suffered low resistance to diseases. Lasharian UC Nazim and Naib Nazim, Arif Khan Lashari and Ajmal Khan Lashari, have appreciated the philanthropic gesture of the welfare society for arranging the free medical camp successfully in remote area of the district.
