The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (Muet) in collaboration with the Aalboerg University Denmark and Higher Education Commission Islamabad inaugurated a two-day International Multi-topic conference on April 11, 2008.
Professor Quintin Gee of University of Southampton UK inaugurated the moot and praised Muet for holding the informative event. He highlighted Muet's educational twining with American and European universities in shortest possible time.
The Chairman, IMTIC 2008, Professor Dr Akbar elaborated in his speech the academic MoU signed between Muet and Aalboerg for two joint projects and emphasised the benefits of such International co-operation for the betterment of the academics and students.
The Vice Chancellor (VC) Muet, Professor Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput (SI) gave a detail about Muet's contribution in organising various significant events in last five years. He said that the moot will provide an ideal opportunity of exchanging views on global IT developments and its use to meet a growing number of societal needs.
The event will help to identify IT opportunities with a shared interest in improving co-operation amongst various developed countries. The Dean, Faculty of Electrical Electronic and computer Engineering said, "the focus on IT has profoundly affected the nature of society and the work besides employment opportunities".
Other speakers of the moot Dr Bhawni Shankar Choudhry also focussed on IT related opportunities in business organisations and industries. The speakers hoped that the mega event of the IMTIC 2008 will bring together the researchers, industry professionals and academics in a pleasant environment to exchange information on advances in IT applications networking databases, mobile web services, IT security wireless, Energy Management and Power Quality Improvement.
