Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has called upon students, intellectuals and people from all walks of life to join hands for real development of institutions for the benefit of the common man of the country.
He was inaugurating one-day art festival, organised by the Faculty of Arts University of Sindh at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium on Saturday in connection with Sindh University Founder's week on its 4th day. The intellectuals, scholars, university professors and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Nisar Khuhro said that today we enjoying democracy in the country, which is a result of sacrifice of great leader Benazir Bhutto who gave her blood for the democracy and empowerment of the people of the country. He said that the people of the country always remember and would never forget the sacrifice of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
Nisar Khuhro said that it is time that every one has to work in collective manner for the development of the country without wasting of any single minute. He said that Sindh University has been serving to youth that are real leaders of future and advised students to be well discipline and pay attention for quality education.
He said that Sindh University has set a memorable tradition by celebrating founder's week to pay homage to its great founder Vice Chancellor Allama I I Kazi and urged that it is moral duty of the nation to remember heroes who gave sacrifice for the nation.
He said that the people of Pakistan through their votes have given success to their representatives and it is duty all of us to work for them in return of their respect and love. Khuhro paid rich tribute to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and said that we must work sincerely, honestly.
He also lauded services of Allama I.I. Kazi, Dr N A Baloch and also appreciated services of Sindh University Vice Chancellor Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui and said that he has developed the University on excellent parameters. Nisar Khuro announced that Benazir Auditorium would be constructed in the University with accommodation of thousand seats and added that he will make request to the concerned quarters for this purpose.
Learned Scholar Dr N A Baloch highlighted services of great scholar Allama I I Kazi and said that Allama Sahib was visionary and missionary scholar. He said that the University of Sindh is celebrating founder's week from 9th April on the day he took over the charge and to April 13 on the day of his death anniversary.
Dr Baloch expressed hope that in leadership of Nisar Ahmed Khuhro the Sindh would progress and would be developed. Sindh University Vice Chancellor Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui said the intellectuals of the University of Sindh are benefiting not only Pakistan but whole world.
He pointed out Sindh University has been organising Founder's week since 6 years regularly to pay tribute to its founder Vice Chancellor. The Dean Faculty of Arts Dr M Qasim Bughio also spoke on the occasion. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro also visited art exhibition at Institute of Art and Design and attended a reception of the students at the boys hostel.
