Former chief minister Punjab and Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that if anything happens to him or any member of his family, Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif will be responsible for it and FIR will be lodged against them.
Addressing a press conference here Sunday at his residence, he said he has formally lodged his FIR in front of media against Sharif brothers. He said that adding that the caretaker government had cautioned him through a letter al Qaeda and other terrorist organisations had planning to kidnap his son for ransom besides harming the other family members.
He said the federal government had asked him to use bullet proof vehicle besides taking other precautionary measures. He said it was wrong that 10 bullet-proof vehicles were under his use as he was using only two bullet proof cars and same has been returned.
He said when chief justice came to Lahore in the past, he also demanded bullet proof vehicles, adding that Sharifs has yet to gain power but they were using 15 official vehicles at their different residences while 10 vehicles were at Khosa House. He said the PML government has taken every efforts to resolve the basic problems of the masses and for that reason they had constructed the Chief Minister's Secretariat where all the offices connected with the CM with an objective that people problems could be resolved under a single roof.
He said he would be very happy if 300 acres out of 800 acres of Raiwind Palace of Sharifs instead of the CM secretariat be allocated for the construction of IT University and he and Chaudhry Shujat would also help in the construction of the same.
He said Sharif brothers did not learn any lesson while living in exile as they have not any agenda for the welfare and prosperity of the masses. He said the first step the new government took was termination of 3,500 people and all projects linked with them would now be suspended.
He said the government of PML-Q re-employed majority of the people as they were highly qualified and had more experience. He said the new government has started the politics of allegations and confrontation on the very first day after getting power while the PML-Q always promoted tolerance during its tenure.
Pervez Elahi said the PML-Q government had provided one million jobs every year to the unemployed youth and skilled persons and for the first time in the history of the country the PML government had introduced land reforms under which the land record in the province would be computerised in next five years.
He said millions had been wasted by the Nawaz League leadership in making cases against PPP leadership. He said NRO was issued so that all the politicians should get benefit adding that the actual face of rulers had been exposed after maltreatment of Dr Arbab and Dr Sher Afgan.
About Pemra Ordinance he said PML-Q always have always supported the freedom of media. About MQM, Chaudhry Pervaiz said that MQM was PML-Q ally and it would remain the same and sit on the opposition benches. He said President Pervez Musharraf has been elected for the term of five years and if any conspiracies were cooked at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the two ministers from PPP can't sit on left and right side of the president during his visit to China. Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan and other party leaders were also present.
