Ali Saeed Awadh Al-Asseri, Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan called on federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment here on Thursday. The Ambassador congratulated the Minister for holding a very key Ministry in the cabinet.
While sharing his sentiments for the People of Pakistan, the Ambassador prayed to see a prosperous, sovereign and progressive Pakistan and assured to provide every possible support and assistance for facilitating investment from Saudi Arabia.
The Ambassador also assured the Minister to provide facilitation in coordination of meetings with his Saudi counterparts and leading Saudi investors. Syed Naveed Qamar Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment, Ports, Shipping, Industries & Production expressed to have a very cordial and time tested friendship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He welcomed Saudi investors in all economic sectors, particularly in Dairy and Agriculture. The Minister also requested the Ambassador to sensitise prominent Saudi investors to explore opportunities in forthcoming Privatisation transactions of Privatisation Commission.
The Minister was of the view that a strategy may be devised by the BOI and Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) for implementing an effective strategy for the promotion of investment in both the countries. The Ambassador expressed on having an extended interaction level between the governments and business communities of both the countries. He also emphasised on having conferences and trade exhibitions, so as to provide enabling environment to showcase the potential of Pakistan to Saudi investors.
The Minister agreed to the Ambassador's proposal to include Saudi/Arab media when promoting investment opportunities or privatisation projects in Pakistan. He also referred to Pakistan as one of the most promising area in the region for the local and foreign investors and informed the Ambassador for organising an investor's conference in Saudi Arabia in the near future.-PR
