Sindh University (SU) has planned to set up its own CNG station at new campus Jamshoro to facilitate University's vehicles. In this connection, Vice Chancellor University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui on Thursday performed foundation stone laying at the site selected for CNG station.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, deans of the faculties, registrar, heads of various institutes and departments also attended the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion Sindh University vice chancellor said that teachers and employees are working hard for the development of their University. He said that with development of the University, the teachers and employees would also get benefit.
He advised the University's CNG management to beautify the location of the CNG station and expressed hope that with new project, University would achieve the targets. Convenor of the CNG project Professor Agha Riaz Hassan said that the CNG project would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 3.2 million.
He said that with the setting up of University's own CNG station, the CNG requirement of University transport would be fulfilled. He lauded efforts of the vice chancellor and said that CNG project will be completed within six months. Incharge Sindh University Petroleum Service Dr Mehmood Hassan Mughal highlighting progress of University's own petroleum service said that during last five years the University has saved about Rs seven million. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, registrar, Project Director Ahmed Ali Abassi also expressed their views on this occasion.
