National Accountability Bureau (NAB), North West Frontier Province in Peshawar, has filed a reference against Tehsil Nazim, DI Khan Fateh Ulah Khan and others for gross misappropriation and embezzlement in government funds on an account of construction and allotment of shops causing huge loss to the government exchequer.
An investigation in this connection revealed that during the year 2002-03, tehsil administration constructed various shops wherein Khan, in connivance with other officials and contractors, embezzled and misappropriated government funds. Reports said that the accused misappropriated huge amount on the pretext of Gatta Pal soil Protection/Preservation Scheme that was never executed on ground but misappropriated Rs 16.000 million anyway.
On completion of the investigation, a reference of misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 46.167 million and misuse of authority against the Tehsil nazim, official and contractors has been filed in the Accountability Court, Peshawar.
