Deputy Secretary General Jamiat-e-Ulma Islam (JUI-F) and former speaker Balochistan Assembly Malik Sikander Khan said on Thursday that the government has decided in principle to release Sardar Akhtar Mengal in next few days while the issue of Maulana Abdul Aziz would be discussed with the coalition government after the issue of deposed judges.
Talking to APP, he said the issue of Balochistan could only be resolved through political reconciliation and dialogue. To a question about restoration of deposed judges, he said the two big parties, PPP and PML-N got votes on the issue of sacked judges and these parties should handle the issue according to the will of the people.
According to Charter of Democracy, the judges took oath under the PCO are illegal, he added. Sikander said, the JUI-F just wanted a judiciary, which can take decisions independently. JUI-F is trying to convince Jamaat-e-Islami to reactivate Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and the party is ready to sacrifice its own interests to reactivate the alliance of religious parties, Sikander said.
He said that MMA is the only effective political power which can work for effective implementation of Islamic laws in the country. The other parties except Jamaat-e-Islami are still in grand religious alliance.
