Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Women Entrepreneurs Sub-committee, Chairperson, Durre Shahwar Nisar has said that the committee has started visiting small cities of the province to collect data of goods produced by women entrepreneurs in these cities.
Taking to newsmen, she said that the subcommittee was making efforts to help women entrepreneurs working in various small cities to boost their activities, as they have no finance to export their products. The sub-committee is also in touch with various banks including First Women Bank to provide them financial support on low mark-up rates, she added.
Shahwar Nisar said that the committee also approached Sindh Minister for Industries to send a delegation of women entrepreneurs abroad to help boost Sindh non-traditional items export.
Referring to KCCI annual exhibition 'My Karachi' scheduled to be held next month at Karachi Expo Centre, she said that hall No 4 has been reserved for women entrepreneurs to display and sale their products. Over 100 stalls have been planned in this hall, she added. Replying to a question, she said that normally KCCI charges Rs 40,000 per standard stall while from women entrepreneurs it is charging Rs 15,000 only.
