While a daughter along with her five accomplices allegedly murdered her father for grabbing his property in Abidabad at least two months ago, the Mochko police have been accused of seeking ways for "muk muka" with one of the suspects they had arrested a month ago.
Mochko police have, however, strongly rejected the accusation that they were committing any irregularity to influence result of the case. According to sources, Anwar Javed, a 50 years old photographer from Multan, who was the owner of a property worth millions of rupees, had disappeared two months ago and is still missing.
They said, the area residents strongly believe that affluent Javed was murdered by his daughter, her husband, brother in law and three others, of whom the police have arrested her brother in law, Umer Khan. "Thana Choki" in Abidabad had arrested Umer as soon as the incident occurred, but later set him free after taking Rs 10,000 from him, sources alleged. Umer was, however, re-arrested by Mochko police when he lodged a complain in the TPO office that in-charge of the Choki had taken bribe from him.
They claimed that the accused had buried body of Javed in the bedroom of his house, which was now sealed and being guarded by two policemen for the last two months instead of starting investigation and recovering the corpse.
Murder of Javed, sources said surfaced when Umer after occupying his property went to his (Javed's) sister, Safia Bano, for getting the property documents. The doubtful sister not only refused to hand over the documents, but she went to the house of her missing brother along with a lawyer to confirm Umer's demand, they added. Sources said the deceased had owned a house in UC-1 of Abidabad and a plot and photography shop of worth around Rs 3.5 million in Muhajir Camp No-7.
Bano and her lawyer after smelling unbearable stink in bedroom of the house went to Mochko Police Station and registered a report, after which the police sealed the house, they said.
Now, while the newly wed couple was still on the run, their three accomplices were freely wandering in the area with no chances to be arrested by the police, claimed the sources. They also claimed that some political forces were also using their influence to mold the case in favour of Umer. After murdering Javed the accused had also collected his salary from his company located in Mills Area, they claimed.
According to sources Javed had left three daughters and two mentally abnormal sons to mourn his death. They further accused that Umer had also captivated two unmarried daughters of Javed in his house while his elder daughter, one of the accused, had left his house and tied knot with brother of Umer at least seven months ago.
When contacted Head Constable Mohammad Yasim from Mochko Police Station confirmed that an FIR (No-106) had been lodged by Safia Bano wife of Mohammad Saleem. He said the case had been referred to the Investigation Cell and Inspector Khan Mohammad Sheikh was leading the team.
SHO Mochko Police Station Irshad Unaid though denied the killing of Javed, however confirmed the existence of a grave and police guards in his house. He said the FIR (No-336) lodged in his office was about kidnapping of a father-in-law (Javed) by his son-in-law and not about murder, adding that the investigation team was probing the case.
When asked why the police was not opening the grave the SHO replied: "We cannot open the grave until we have a permission from the judicial magistrate." Irshad was outright in rejecting the impression that the police was using delaying tactics to pave the way for a "muk muka" saying that the case was forwarded to the investigation cell and there was no question left for committing any irregularity.
