22 core group master trainers from Balochistan, AJK, Fata and Northern Areas have completed an eight-day master trainers and subject specialist course organised by the Institute of Continuing Education and Extension, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore on Monday.
Participants were given away certificates during in a ceremony held in the seminar room of the institute. The Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz and Director, Institute, Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry presented the certificates to the participating trainers in the areas of animal nutrition, breeding and reproduction, dairy husbandry, poultry production, small ruminants production and animal health.
While addressing the event, the VC said that the UVAS had the best faculty and infrastructure to arrange market-oriented and tailor-made training programmes for professionals of all areas of veterinary and animal sciences, poultry, fisheries, dairy, wildlife and other related fields. He urged the participants' practical use of their knowledge saying that the livestock sector had great potential that was not being exploited in our country.
Speaking at the oasis the Director Institute discussed the academic, training and extension activities of the Institute of Continuing Education and Extension. He said that the institute, in collaboration with other departments of the university, was running various training programmes for the professionals, paraprofessionals and unemployed youths.
