The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, (CPSP) and King Fahad Medical Hospital (KFMH) inked a Memorandum of Understanding here on Monday. In the light of MoU, a FCPS-I doctor will be able to get the salary amounting 8,600 in Saudi Riyals with bachelor accommodation, while doctors wishing for second fellowship after FCPS will get 15,000 Saudi Riyals with furnished accommodation and other facilities.
President CPSP, Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry, informed a meeting comprising heads of medical teaching institutions from civil and private sectors in Lahore. Speaking on the occasion he told about the role of CPSP to upgrade standard of medical education in the country, adding that there are 125 institutions which are recognised by the CPSP.
There are also 1,620 approved supervisors in the country, who meet the CPSP's criteria. He also apprised the participants about introduction of tutor system. All heads of teaching institutions applauded the residency programme of CPSP and its efforts for up gradation of medical education in the country. Among others, the meeting was attended by Vice-Chancellor, KEMU, Professor Zafar Khan, Professor Abdul Majeed Chaudhry, Professor Sajjad Hussai
Professor Khurram Manzoor Professor Anwaar A Khan, Professor Humayun Maqsood, Professor Naseem Majeed, Professor Nazia, Professor Jawad Sajid Khan, Professor Shaheena Manzoor, Brigadier Ghulam Mehdi and Medical Superintendents of teaching hospital. The participants forwarded proposals for upgradation of the level of Postgraduate training, monitoring and research up to international standard.
