Shanghai copper futures rose half a percent on Tuesday, but London prices edged lower as concerns about demand continued to unsettle investors. The most active Shanghai August copper contract rose 300 yuan, at 60,430 yuan ($8,717) a tonne at 0217 GMT, but London Metal Exchange copper for delivery in three months lost $30 to $7,900.
Shanghai August zinc rose 95 yuan to 16,590 yuan. Lead fell $8 to $2,005 and more losses were seen by technical analysts. Shanghai aluminium rose 25 yuan to 18,800 yuan. LME metal fell $7 to $2,923.
