A seminar to mark the 'Global Environment Day' was held on Thursday in Kotli district with the renewed pledge to promote forestation and eradicate pollution in the district.
The speakers said environment was facing threats throughout the world and besides governments, NGOs should evolve a comprehensive strategy for the protection of environment through promotion of forestation and by controlling emission of smoke-emitting vehicles. A walk was also held to raise awareness about the day. Students, teachers, lawyers, journalists and members of civil society participated in the event.
